you may feel forgotten, but God remembers you...

It's not like God had forgotten about him, but it probably felt like it. Tossing and turning in the relentless storm. Was it ever going to stop? He had never been through this before. He never even imagined himself in this situation. And it was dragging out. How much longer would he be here? How much more would he have to take? I mean, he kind of knew what he was getting himself into, but this was a little more than he expected. And after 40 days of tossing around in the wind and waves, the uncertainty of the flood that started out as rain shower, Noah probably wondered if God was still with him.

"But God remembered Noah..." - Genesis 8:1

God hadn't forgotten about Noah. He hadn't lost him in the flood. With every rain drop that fell to the earth, God's eyes were on Noah. His grace had placed Noah in that ark and it was God's grace keeping him afloat. After all, with a whole world full of water, I would have to believe that the waves gave that ark a run for its money. As they pounded on the side of that boat, navigating it to a place unknown, Noah probably wondered. Concern probably filled his thoughts, maybe even fear, as he hoped those wooden planks wouldn't give out. And as he floated the earth, the desolate, dark, stormy world, Noah probably wondered what God's plan was. The world he had known was completely destroyed, and here he was sailing through unchartered waters with no clue of what lay ahead. How was God going to fix this mess? How was He going to redeem it? How could anything good come from so much destruction? But the ark kept moving, Noah kept waiting, and God remembered Noah.

He remembers you, too. Maybe you feel lost. Maybe you feel as if you're barely keeping your head above water in a flood that you don't understand. Maybe the fear is getting the best of you, or maybe you're tired. You're tired of tossing, of the turbulence, of the uncertainty. You're tired of waiting on, well, whatever the next thing is. Maybe your whole world has been ruined, devastated, and you just don't see how God could possibly rebuild what was lost. Well, hang tight. Don't give up. Don't believe the lie that you're on your own and that this will never pass. It will. All things come to pass. All things come to and end. But if we're quick to give up on God, we'll miss the blessing that awaits us. We'll miss the rainbow, the promise, the new life that He will bring. We'll miss the joy of overcoming, the strength from enduring, and the faith from persevering. Well miss out on a whole new world of opportunities, of possibilities, of second chances and of an incredible story of redemption.

You may feel alone. You may feel forgotten. You're not. God remembers you.

"I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." - Genesis 9:15
